Hard times, yet blessed

This photo was taken in Oct 2008, as were a few others I posted earlier. Life was "normal" then...well, y'all know what I mean. The Michigan economy wasn't the greatest, but we were doing ok...God had provided. Come the new yr, 2009, things weren't so pretty. In Feb. God "told" me that Hubby's company would be gone by Fall. I felt strongly about contacting our recruiter. As y'all know...we ARE moving to Florida. God provided and I am thankful.
Above you see photos of Hubby and kids at the airport. He has been in Florida for 3 months now and it has been hard on all of us. I have not had time to visit all y'alls amazing blogs for I've been a "single" mom, if ya will, without much free time. To top it off, I've been fighting a sinus infection for over 2 months. Stress and Fall allergies are not helping...prayers welcome! I have also spent much "free" time working on the house...above you see my entry. It was a beautiful rich tone, but now it's buyer friendly Cottage White. Sigh.
We are not gonna talk about the awful housing market up here...just pray for God to send my buyer! We dropped the price another $40,000 today! It's not pretty...but God will provide.
HE provided an amazing job for my Hubby before the fall of his MI company. Yep, y'all read correctly...last week we learned his old company was finished. Thank you Lord for that still small voice...hard times, yet blessed.

Yes, it is hard times, but we only have to look to God and family to know we are still blessed. And God will take care of you! Let Him. {easy to say I know; harder to quit trying to control I know} xoxo

It has been a while since I last visited your blog. I do remember you writing about the tough times with the economy, etc. So, I am catching up with you to see what happened. Praise God that He provided a new job for your husband. Most of my family lives in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. And there are many blogging sisters in Florida too so maybe you'll get to meet some of them.

I have to say that my family is going through very tough times too. We had our "dream home" on the market and have not been able to sell it. So, we took it off the market and are trying to work with the mortgage company on options available. There are days when it's really hard to keep going as difficulties like this cascades into other aspects of life.

But God ...I'm so thankful that I am His child and that He loves me. Even though these are hard times for you and for me (in different ways), we are blessed to know that He sees our circumstances. I'm learning more about trusting Him in His perfect timing and His perfect ways.

I guess it was perfect timing that I read your blog this morning. I want to be an encouragement to you.

he's provided before, and he will again. :) it doesn't make the hard times go away, just easier knowing that we can rest in his arms

Oh, my prayers are with you. I just know how stressful moving is from every angle! Praying a buyer walks thru the door this week and your whole family can be reunited in Florida quickly. Hugs to you today...Joyce

So glad that you blogged to give us an update on what has been going on. We are lifting your needs up in prayer that you can sell your home quickly and be reunited once again as a family. I know how difficult it can be, my hubby traveled almost 90% of last year, and it was so hard on all of us.

God will provide!

Nice to see another post from you! Our daughter and her husband are involved in a move, also. He took another job---she stayed on working and trying to sell their house. They, like you, are eager to be back together as a family. Today we heard that they have signed an offer, with closing due to be Oct. 23rd. We have been praying for their situation every day. Their house was on the market about a month. Keeping you in my prayers and hoping all the details are worked out soon so you can be together again. Blessings!

That's definitely creepy. Good thing you listened. I just bet that things are going to improve for you. I will pray for a buyer very soon.

I've been thinking about you!!!
The picture of your daughter huggin her daddy melted my heart. I remember what it was like when Myguy's plant closed down in the early 90's and he had to transfer. He came home as often as he could and I had to literally keep the home fires burning alone.
I'm anxious to hear more about Florida and how things are for you today.
You are all in my prayers!!
I'm glad you "listen" for that still small voice. Your Emmanuel is with you.
Holykisses xoxo

Hi Sweet Shel,

Things like what you're dealing with can be so tough...it's hard to know just what to say. Be assured that I am praying and that God will make a way. My friend who finally got to move to where her hubby was just ended up renting the home that wouldn't sell. They have enough money to live fairly comfortably down here in a rental, and are so thankful to be together again.

Praying God's absolute best for you and your family, and can't wait til you're down here and we can be buddies in person! Oh the fun we'll have!!

Love ya...hang tough, girl!! He will come through for you!!

We are also here in MI, and this economy is very hard to not fear sometimes...but each month, so far, I have been able to say thank you God, the bills are paid...
I am happy to see God had a plan for your family...

I'm so glad to hear from you but not glad to hear about the tough times you've been facing. Everyone's been coping with the bad economy and I'm sorry to hear that it's touched you too.

Is the sinus infection better now? I hope so. It must be tough on the kids to have Daddy gone so far. It must be even tougher on you. I'm so sorry.

My thoughts are with you.

Love and best wishes,
Jai

It is good to see a post from you, although I am sorry to hear about the trials you have been facing. It has to be hard with your husband away for so long and being sick on top of it. The best news is that he was able to find another job. I pray for you that you will find a buyer for your house and soon be able to join your husband in Florida. Take care.

Waiting is the hardest.. in my opinion. We know we have to wait on God, but we are human and it can be difficult. I have honestly been in your shoes (minus the hubby out of town part) Know that your house will sell eventually. Until then I wish you peace, safety, health, and many "showings".

Wow, that has to be hard. Hope you're beginning to feel better and your house will sell quickly.
We move back home to CO in May. My husband is working night shift 1 hour away for 4 nights a week, so he stays at his moms. It's hard him being away for part of the week. I couldn't imagine 3 months.
God bless.

A year from now, you will look back and be in a better place but lookk back and remember good things. Hold tight to your faith. I live in Michigan and my husband is without a job. I'm working, but it's tough. I just keep telling myself ..."In God's time, not mine...."

So sorry that this bad ecomony has caused such hard times for you. However, as you know, God is so faithful to His children. He will make this beautiful for you -- in His time.

I will be praying for you and your family!
