I have been blogging now for 6 months and have loved every minute of it. All y'all make me smile on many levels and at times tears fill my eyes and prayers are lifted. There are so many amazing ladies out there and I am "meeting" them through what I call "Blogville"...it's been a great journey for me during such a long cold winter. I want to thank each of you for taking time to create all those wonderful posts.
I feel I should let y'all in on a bit of my world. All y'all know the economy is a tough one right now. I am in Michigan where it's been rough for many yrs. I don't know what the future holds for me and my family, but I am thankful to know WHO holds the future for my family. We have been blessed beyond measure and I know HE will continue to provide. I need to keep my focus on Him and not the storm that is around me. (hmm, reminds me of a Bible story...)
I am truly not one to "sit a spell" for very long...I've got things to do ; ) I think that's why God gave me the love of tea...so I would actually sit and relax.
Of late I've done a lot of sitting, pondering and praying. Here are places I've pondered with my cup of tea in the last few weeks. Speaking of tea...I think I'll put the kettle on.

Thank you for sharing. I hope everything smooths out in Michigan very soon. I watch the news every night - probably shouldn't cause it just depresses me - and see the situation all across our country. So distressing. What would we do without God??!!?? xoox
I'd probably plop myself down at your place and never leave...how beautiful and inviting! Yes, times are tough for everyone right now, but God is ever near!
I've heard from extended family that life in Michigan is especially tough these days. I'm sure it's overwhelming at times. You and your family take care of yourselves. You have your priorities right and that matters.
(((HUGS)))
Hoping you sitting spells get calmer soon. Grab a glass of sweet tea and all will be right as rain......'til the glass is empty!
Being born and raised in Michigan, it makes me feel sad to see the toll the economy is taking there. My dad and many other family members and neighbors worked for the auto companies for years. None of us would have ever believed this could happen. I'm praying that things will turn around soon.
In the meantime, it looks like you have beautiful places inside and outside your home to "sit a spell" and relax with your cup of tea.
It is a very uncertain time economically and in many other ways. But despite all of that, we serve the all knowing and all sovereign God. That's what I chose to focus on. There are moments when fear grips me but then I remember. Sometimes I say Scripture when I am scared of uncertainty. Isaiah 26:3 has been such a help. "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you."
May you sit a spell and meditate on these words from the Bible. And then you will remember who really is in control. God bless you.
BTW, I love your swing on your porch!
Pour a cup for me too please! Feel blessed to of run into you on here as well! Don't you feel as though all that we learn and soak in from the Lord during the quiet and good times is what gets us through the tough times? God is good and yes he really does have the whole world and each and everyone of us in his ever Loving Hands.
Blessings and prayers on ya sister!
Your home is beautiful and we are going to have a gorgeous weekend here in the SE MI area. Isn't it great to see the buds popping on the trees and the grass greening up? My husband has been home from work early everyday this week, but we are not trusting his employer, we are trusting God to meet all our needs.
Your home is beautiful. It looks like a peaceful, inviting place.
I hope all goes smoothly for your family.

Sitting and pondering is a good thing. Remember the verse that says, "Be still and know that I am God!"
There's nothing better to ponder is there? And you certainly have some beautiful spots to do it in and I'm sure God doesn't mind you doing it with your cup of tea.
You have such a beautiful home...so light and airy but yet, warm and inviting.
I just love all the places you have to sit and ponder. I wish I did.
Enjoy your beautiful home and lawn...I just wish I could come by for a cup of tea and sit with you!
((hugs))
Your home is so beautiful, warm and inviting! A great place to have tea! I'm a fellow Michigander - I think we have no place to go but up. I pray the worst is over!
What a beautiful place to sit and relax.. I love your white arbor and white patio furniture.. Darling! At least you have a family, and you know God. Those are 2 of the most important things..
Love the feel of peace I get just reading your post.
Times are hard here in the south in Virginia too.My son lost his job at volvo and may lose his home with 2 sons to raise. But he has God and his church work that is helping keep his mind . Reminds me of the scripture ;Isaiah 26:3 Thhou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.

Hi,
It's midnight here in FL and I need to go to bed, but I want to thank you for leaving a comment on my blog! It's great meeting someone who attended a political "tea party!!" I wish I could have been at one!
Your blog is lovely, I'm bookmarking it so I can come back and read when I'm not sleepy!
I just posted my tablescape on bluebirds if you would like to return to see it!

It is in tough times in the economy that we as children of God can know that we are dependant on Him and He will provide all our needs.
Hope you enjoyed your tea, thank you for sharing your heart with all of us in blogland.
Hugs
I loved reading your post today. Reminds me of that saying I've often heard, God made us human 'beings' not human'doings' because He knew our intrinsic need for a time of relaxation and meditation on Him and His Word.
I am so sorry for the uncertainty these times present for so many. Like you, I don't know all the answers, but I know He who does! I'm praying for you and your dear family.
BTW, your home is lovely. Treat yourself and take the time just to enjoy it for a bit every day!
Many hugs..........
Diane
Those are great places to sit and drink sweet tea (the only kind of tea for us southerners ya know). :o)
Beautiful pictures!
God bless!

Morning girl....it is uncertain times down here as well..so many stores have closed and people being layed off...the housing market is awful and it is so hard to see family members struggling to hang on...but we know in whom we believe and when having done all we can do we stand..knowing God will make a way...
Things will turn around soon for you and your family and I hope the sunshine shines bright for you and you get to sit on your swing again rejoicing! I loved your pics especially the one with the white rocker and that pretty little table...ohhhh what a sweet scene!
Hello,
So nice to meet you, Thank you for coming by for a visit and for your very sweet words.
I have enjoyed reading over your blog, and I feel such a sweet spirit here, The swing where you go looks so inviting, and it looks like such a great place to visit with God. I have a porch where He and visit a lot especially when the weather warms up.
I have the same concerns as you have and I believe God puts His children together to not only pray for each other but to encourage each other also.
I started blogging last August, to find and meet fellow christian women who love God and want to serve Him by serving and loving their families and others, And I must say I have not been disappointed, and almost everyday the Lord will find me a new christian friend. God is so good.
Well I have talked to much, I am so looking forward to coming by and having a cup of tea with you'
Blessings,
Sue
I think a cuppa tea sounds great too...Even here in Canada its real bad too...Hey lets sit back and enjoy a nice cuppa tea and chat... oh I wished we lived closer to do that girl ...

Hello, thank you for stopping by to 'meet' me!
You're so right--God does meet our needs. This move to CO has been one need after another met.
Where in Colo. did you live?
I grew up in Pueblo and my husband in Fowler.
Consider yourself priveleged--you're my only blogging stop while I eat breakfast! Our truck is getting loaded today and there's too much still in the house needing packing.
I've got you in my favorites so when I can get back online after today I can stop by for a more leisurely visit. (My husband is taking the laptop) :(
Look forward to visiting more.
God bless.
This is a beautiful post on a beautiful blog. Thank you for visiting my blog and for the nice comments.
My book review and giveaway for How Not To Look Old is up now. You might want to check it out.
I agree with you. Blogging is lots of fun and God is so good.
Charlotte
Your sitting area is beautiful! I know things are tough all over but we need to keep positive and all will be well. Being negative only brings more to us. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
THose are all beautiful places to sit a spell! I love all the white, of course, but you probably figured that! ;) {{prayers and hugs to you}}
Hi,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and your nice comments. I would love to come and sit on your porch swing and have a cup of tea with you. I just love all the white and your arbors look enchanting!
~Jean
Hi - your blog is beautiful.
I bet you also love tea cups and tea pots. I do.
Thanks for visiting Tuesdays with Tiz this week. Please visit next week and bring your burden with you. My post is going around in my head like crazy and I think you will profit from it when it is posted.
Be blessed.
Tiz @Prayerfully Yours
I think all of us have been effected by the news and economy in one way or another. I was very stressed out for a little while. I had to stop listening to the new. I now focus on god, my family and our home. That's all that really matters. Sometimes it's just one day at a time. Sometimes it's a few minutes at a time. You have beautiful spaces to sit and relax. Do take advantage of them. I hope things get better really soon!
Hugs, Terrie
Thanks for visiting my blog. You have created beautiful sitting spots. Enjoy them!
Love all your "sitting places." Hope things are much better up there in Michigan real soon.
Beautiful pictures with this post.
These are scary times indeed with the economy but you are right - our trust is in the Lord. I have such a burdened heart for those who are struggling and DON'T know Him. Where do they find peace?
I will pray for your family tonight.
Hope you are having a super weekend! ♥ HUGS ♥
Hello! Thank you for blessing me with this treat to come and visit your blog today! I could totally see myself relaxing and sittin' still for quite a long time at your place...its beautiful, clean and quiet looking!
I am a fellow Michigander as well! I wish I could crawl through my computer screen and sit for a spell in your lovely home. I am an iced tea drinker and love sweet tea! Will drink it even throughout the winter months. So I raise my glass to toast you in your 6 months of blogging. Hope the rest of your week is grand!
"My GOD shall supply all of my needs according to his riches in glory which is in Christ Jesus"
My prayer for your family dear sister as you trust in the LORD for total provision at all times.
Love you.
Hi! Thank you so much for your sweet comment.
Your areas of retreat and swing are very charming and I couldnt agree more on needing places to reflect. This was a sweet note to all! And any southern girl is a friend indeed :)
Have a great day and I love the name of your blog! ~Tierra.
I love the way you worded this and YES, sipping tea is a great way to relax.
What gorgeous areas you get to sit and enjoy while you sip your tea, and ponder and think. Abosolutely gorgeous!!
You radiate positive, cheerfulness to all of us here in "Blogville" and I am so glad we are getting to know each other through our Blogs and things we share and experience!
Thanks for the sunshine today...it is gloomy and stormy here and so I am grateful for gorgeous photos to see and happy things to read!
I came to check out your picture. I love your home. We have very similar taste. Hey, I even have that old bench that you painted white in the last picture. The one with the heart cutout. Have a beautiful day!
Looks like you have plenty of nice cozy places to "sit a spell".
I am praying with you girl....sleeping and praying ;)
I love the name of your blog. My granny uses that term all the time, so it made me smile when I seen it was your blog title.
Your home is beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by my little spot in "blogville".
"Sit A Spell..." Every visit has me longing to curl up on the sofa with a warm, delcious cup of tea, my favorite "throw" and the "Good Book!" Know this darlin' no matter how bad the economy may get, (and it just may get worse before it gets any better) one thing is for certain in our lives - OUR GOD! He is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow, and guess what?! HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES AND DELIGHTS IN - YOU! YOU ARE HIS BELOVED WITH WHOM HE IS WELL PLEASED! Keep using your amazing gift of words to encourage and uplift others...because you're making a huge difference out here in Blogville! L.T. Schulte (Cincinnati) AKA: Serial Room Arranger
