It's a "snow day"...but the sun is shinning

Yes, there are smiles on the faces of my children today...no school, it's a snow day! Did I say the sun was shinning? Yep, sure did...but the temp is below zero with a very cold wind chill, so no school. They now have a 5 day weekend! I grew up in the south and we got out of school because it was too HOT and we didn't have AC. This is new to me. I'm thinkin' toss a log on the fireplace, pop some popcorn, make some cookies, heat up the kettle (cocoa for the kids, tea for me) and let's have some in door fun.

Sounds like fun to me and the best way to spend such a cold day!

Your photos look like they're from a magazine! Just gorgeous :)
That sort of weather would be new to me, too - growing up in the south we got out when it was too hot, too. :) Hope you have a great weekend - drink lots of cocoa and stay warm!

Monograms and Manicures blog - her blog is wonderful; you should read her {http://kappaprep.blogspot.com} organized a swap called the Pink Swap. So anyone who committed to participate buys pink goodies for a swap partner. Whoever organizes the swap draws for everyone's partner. It is fun - not expensive - just fun getting goodies in mail!!

It's just beautiful! I always say if it's going to be freezing cold it might as well snow. We haven't had any yet.

Awwwww....I'm still waiting for my shipment of snow to arrive in Arkansas from you! It is cold enough to stay around...in the teens at night and highs in 20's during the day but no snow!

Beautiful pictures and a beautiful snowfall.

Thanks so much for stopping to visit me! I love living in NC, been here since 1989. It was 8 degrees yesterday morning when I got up---that's the reason we moved south, to get away from winter. If it's going to be this cold, at least we could have some snow!

Gorgeous photos. We haven't had much snow yet, this winter. Snowed a bit at the lake the other day. Was beautiful.
