B & B in Amish Country

Sissy and I took a Mama-Daughter trip in April to northern Indiana's Amish Country. We stayed in this 100 yr old Amish home which is now a B & B. Our inn keepers were a young Amish couple. This home was built by the Amish and an Amish family lived here until it recently became a B & B.

Sarah took us on a buggy ride through the country side. The horse recognized their old home and tried to turn!

This is where we had dinner one night. We chose the buffet which included all of this plus more! Our fav was the home made rolls and apple butter. Sissy also like putting the Amish peanut butter on her roll.

The reason this shot is last is because here's Sissy after a full day...shop till you drop...Just DON'T drop that bag Sissy cause our pie is in there. She didn't and we ate it at 10:30 pm that night! It was sooo good.

Mr. Right and I want to build a white farm house - I love this one!! Of course if its big enough to be a B&B then its too large for the two of us. :P but its a good starting point

What a fun trip. Did the inn have electricity? We have Amish in our area and it is fun to see the horses and buggies drive past the house. They have some of the best food at farmer's markets as well.

I have been wanting to do Amish Country touring for quite a while.. it is so on the list this Summer. That house is beautiful.. and a buggy ride.. how fun!

Kansas has both Amish and Mennonites. All of the Amish use horse and buggies. Some of the sects of Mennonites do, too, but not all.

Some have been here for a long time while our Amish have been here for about 3 years or so -- moving from Kentucky, I believe.

What a fun time for you and your daughter. The B&B is lovely. Not sure I would want to leave with pie and a home like that to stay in.
